Oil prices rose by more than 2% on Friday, after the United States and Britain carried out military strikes against targets in Yemen.Global benchmark Brent jumped 2.3% higher to $79.22 a barrel , while the US West Texas Intermediate futures climbed 2.5% to $73.82 per barrel.The United States, the United Kingdom and eight other countries announced earlier that military strikes have been carried out against Houthi targets in Yemen. The developments are in conjunction with the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip since October 7, amid fears of a widening escalation in the region.
